Happy Giving Tuesday—and a Toast to (RED)

On top of it being the first day of the year I’m allowed to play “Feliz Navidad” on repeat, December 1st is World AIDS Day. This year the global spotlight on the fight against HIV coincides with Giving Tuesday. Our friends at (RED) also happen to be celebrating their 10th anniversary in the new year. Given this fortuitous confluence of events, we thought it would be a good opportunity to help bring attention to their mission and to give back in our support.

(RED) is a pioneer in leveraging the private sector to bring attention to the worst pandemic of our generation: the HIV/AIDS fight. The organization also brings to light a cause that’s been particularly relevant in our hometown, New York City, over the past 30 years. Since its founding, (RED) has raised over $325 million for the Global Fund to fight AIDS and has impacted the lives of over 60 million people in sub-Saharan Africa. That’s no small feat.

That’s right!  Going live today on ebay.com/RED, eBay will host an auction series to win once-in-a-lifetime experiences, including one with me and Dave in NYC. The highest bidder will fly to New York City for an exclusive tour of our Warby Parker headquarters, where Dave and I will review your business plan, then grab lunch. Plus, hotel accommodation and travel costs will be covered. And the best part is that 100% of proceeds go to (RED)’s fight against AIDS.
