Dear LinkedIn Reader:
This week our industry in the U.S. celebrates?National Forest Products Week?and?National Bioenergy Day?(October 20). A tip-of-the-hat to not only those in the U.S. but to readers all over the world. It's never a bad time to honor our industry, no matter we live and work.?
We hope you're finding ways to engage with your communities on the many benefits of wood products and how wood can sustainably address many societal needs. If you're looking for an activity to round out that the final days of the celebration and you happen to live in the right locale, here are a few agencies and organizations touting activities in their area, helpful facts & figures, and general information regarding Forest Products Week. (Are we missing anyone?)
By the way, the FBN team had a pre-Forest Products Week celebration all of last week in western Oregon where we put on some serious miles to meet with key sponsors, partners, and stakeholders of the?2022?International Mass Timber Conference. We toured quite a few inspiring mass timber buildings and manufacturing facilities.

A couple of standout tours included the new?North American headquarters of adidas, constructed in all its mass timber glory. The adidas facility with be featured in the Portland Buildings tour at the conference. In addition, we got a fascinating tour of the awe-inspiring—I don't use that term lightly—buildout of the new mass timber roof for the Portland airport redesign, one of the most complex construction projects happening in the U.S.?today. And yes, attendees will get to see this project up-close and personal, as well, but only with a Portland Buildings ticket.?(Tickets will sell out for our tours, so you'll want to?grab yours?before they're gone.)
Happy Forest Products Week to all!
