Happy Finnish Entrepreneurship Day - in the Future too

Finland is celebrating the Finnish Entrepreneurship Day (5.9) to promote the entrepreneurs, who create new, take risks and sometimes even succeed. Finland is also a nation where we invest in the future. Education is highly ranked, and schools are starting to offer more entrepreneurship education as part of the curricula. In this post, I will open up the Future Entrepreneurship. A path that starts about 10-15 years before you get your first business ID.

Entrepreneurship education is not about becoming an entrepreneur. It contains an essential skill set to make your education more future proof. We in JA Finland have three entrepreneurship education programs that form a good foundation for the future.

"You can reach anything if you just try hard enough." is the slogan of Pikkuyritt?j?t (MiniEntrepreneurs) program that reaches about 20% of the age group in primary school (10-12 y.o). The program promotes the importance of innovation, teamwork and just plain trying (www.pikkuyrittajat.fi).

When you get older, you can Make your own dreams in a Company program (15-21 y.o), where you can test drive your own business and learn the process from idea to action. It is not meant to be a real business, rather an enriching learning experience that will leave long lasting memories and a period where you will learn your strengths and start to believe in your potential. (www.nyvuosiyrittajana.fi).

While you are at the university and ready to build your future, you can join to NY Start Up program where you will learn teamwork, innovation and create your own pilot company. You will get in touch with business, ideate, develop and learn a lot. (www.nystartup.fi)

Above is a snapshot of the work we do in JA Finland (www.nuoriyrittajyys.fi) to inspire the future generation of Entrepreneurs and active citizens. There are a vast amount of other good things going on this space and many companies also believe the benefits of long term work. In this sense, the future of entrepreneurship also looks good.

As Finland turns 100-years, we can look forward to for the next centennial and be sure we have the future superstars coming.
