The Happy Executive Woman?: A Sanctuary in Turbulent Times

The Happy Executive Woman?: A Sanctuary in Turbulent Times

Four years ago, I made a life-altering decision.

I shifted the focus of my business from helping women navigate dating, relationships, and marriage to something even more personal and pressing: the well-being and retention of women of color in the workplace.

At the time, my shift was ignited by a global reckoning. The murder of George Floyd, the civil unrest that followed, and the long-overdue conversations about systemic racism left me with a burning question:?How do we take care of ourselves as Black and Brown women in systems that weren’t built for us?

Now, here we are—four years later—and the political and cultural landscape is once again demanding that we ask this question with even more urgency. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, which many of us fought for, are being retracted or deprioritized across organizations. Hate-fueled behavior targeting people of color is on the rise, creating an atmosphere that feels not just heavy but hostile.

For executive women of color, this is a pivotal moment.

We’re often among the first—and sometimes the only—people to advocate for workplace equity and inclusion.

We’re balancing leadership with the personal weight of navigating microaggressions, underrepresentation, and the rollback of hard-won progress.

At the same time, we’re dealing with the life transitions and challenges that no title or paycheck exempts us from—menopause, elder care, maintaining our mental and physical health, building meaningful relationships, and even keeping up with the fast-changing world of AI.

I created The Happy Executive Woman? membership community?because we need a "soft place to land."

We need a space where we can exhale, be vulnerable without fear, and pour into ourselves after years of pouring into everyone else—our companies, our communities, and our families.

This isn’t just about creating a community. It’s about creating a?sanctuary. A place where women of color—Black, Latina, Asian, Indigenous—can come together to find support, resources, and strategies to navigate the corporate arena while preserving our well-being. A place where we can have honest conversations about navigating careers in environments that often leave us feeling othered. A place to tackle life’s transitions—whether managing menopause, caring for aging parents, or exploring how new technologies like AI impact our industries.

Our experiences and needs are unique.

In a world where we are expected to be resilient, unshakable leaders every day,?The Happy Executive Woman??offers something profoundly different:?permission to rest, recharge, and reconnect with ourselves and each other.

We know the stakes. Women of color are leaving corporate spaces at unprecedented rates—not because we lack talent or ambition, but because we are often asked to endure workplaces that don’t fully see, hear, or value us. Retention isn’t just a business problem; it’s a human problem. It’s time we started treating it that way.

This community is my love letter to you, the executive women of color who have carried so much on your shoulders. It’s for the women who have felt invisible in boardrooms, who have had to work twice as hard to be seen as half as competent, who have fought to create opportunities for others, even when none were handed to them.

But it’s also for our allies—for those who see the value in what we bring to the table and want to support us, for those who understand that creating spaces for women of color doesn’t take away from anyone else—it enriches everyone.

I invite you to join me in this movement. Whether you’re an executive woman of color looking for a safe space to grow and thrive or an ally ready to stand alongside us, there’s a place for you here.

In these challenging times, we need safe spaces—we need?brave?spaces. The Happy Executive Woman? membership community is a courageous, bold step toward healing, empowerment, and community. Together, we can navigate the corporate arena, life transitions, and shifting political landscape with the grace and power we’ve always carried.

The question isn’t whether we need this space but whether you are ready to claim it.

Let’s create the future we deserve. Stay close if you’re ready to join us or know someone who needs this; the Priority Notification List will open soon. We’re building something extraordinary here, and I’d love for you to be part of it.
