5 个月Thank you for putting your weight behind this topic, Shashank. I think that adoption has been slow because many people don't grasp that "Happiness" in the work context doesn't refer only to feelings of joy and pleasure but instead to crucial needs being met in the workplace, such as: Psychosocial & Physical Safety - Will my body, mind, job, career and reputation be safe here if I work with this organisation? Validation: Will my thoughts, ideas, talents and contributions be respected and appreciated? Connection: Will I have good relationships with the people I work with (or will they be domineering and unsupportive)? Engagement: Will I be given work that I find meaningful and interesting? Growth: Will I get the support and the guidance I will need to perform, learn and grow (or will I be thrown into the deep end to swim or sink)? Ethicality: Will my work bring harm or benefit to other human beings and the planet?

5 个月Great points Shashank, sense of purpose however I feel is very intrinsic. Work-life balance takes a back seat when organizations set tighter deadlines to increase profit margins. Australia's right-to-disconnect law has come into effect?— giving employees the right to refuse contact if their employers reach out to them by phone or email after hours recently. We are yet to see the implications of this law

5 个月Shashank point 1 to 6 has been in focus for considerable period of time in majority of progressive organisations, however, apparently gains are not significant. Thus it appears something more is necessary in addition to EVP and employees experience - when it comes to happiness, positivity and productivity. Because standard receipe is not serving enough. One of the fascinating areas which is receiving prominence is - raising emotional hygiene. Ideally, these subjects are within the patenting realm but it's not in radar. Therefore, while physical hygiene is taken into parenting realms, emotional hygiene needs to be integrated in organisation systems so that one is equipped to deal with inner uncertainty, hurts , discomfort and bruises etc , and bandaid is applied to heal or help is solicited proactively to remain in positive state - to contribute more in work-life.
