Happy Easter: Kiss the Ground
Last week was full of reasons to celebrate.. I've celebrated Easter twice this year - on the Catholic date (9th of April) and last Sunday on the 16th we celebrated the Orthodox Easter!

Happy Easter: Kiss the Ground

Happy Easter to Everyone!

Despite that I'm not very religious I enjoy this holiday because it is time for gatherings, traditions and ... believing in miracles but also - we paint eggs for it! Thank you, Zara Rancheva , for organizing the ritual painting in Amsterdam this Saturday! Then on Sunday we... "fight" with them. Check out this blog post if you want to have a short introduction to what Easter egg fights are!?The best part: you get to eat all your cracked eggs!

This year's Easter I want to dedicate to a very important topic and a movie I saw last week about it: our soil.

Kiss the Ground (2020) - A must-see documentary

What have I learned from this documentary?

Soil erosion (or desertification) is when soil becomes just dirt – when the soil no longer has plants to absorb CO2, or microorganisms to feed the plants. Soil erosion is caused by tilling the fields (leaving the soil exposed), spraying crops with chemicals that kill microorganisms and leaving the soil bare for long periods of time between harvests.

Regeneration > Sustainability

Even if we stopped all CO2-emitting production today – this would still not be enough to change the course of climate change. What we need is more linked to "regeneration" – given our very short timeframe before we get into serious trouble – we need to make a shift in ecological, economic and lifestyle sense for everyone on earth.

If you want to learn more about the movie check out their website.

Celebrating the First Sponsor for the Rewild. Retreat!

?#regeneration and embracing?#biodiversity links to the next topic I wanted to share with you. Our Rewild. #retreat in Italy which is happening in less than 3 weeks now (and we still have 3 available spots info here) found it's first official sponsor! How?

The other day I went to the cinema at?Louis Hartlooper Complex?and to my surprise when I was buying the ticket they offered me a packet of seeds ?? to plant to create a better environment for our fellow little friends - ?? the bees.

?? ???? Whilst my home country Bulgaria still remains to be one of Europe’s biodiversity hotspots in the last years, I've become painfully aware of the importance of?#biodiversity?for our survival, as well as all life on the planet.

?? I was very pleasantly surprised by their campaign in the Netherlands, where there is growing danger to the bee population in the latest years. After I reflected for a bit I decided to contact them because it reminded me of our Rewild. retreat that we organize next month in Italy which has the same concept - embracing the ?#connection with ?#nature and the ?#wilderness within.

? I asked them: Would you like to sponsor our retreat by providing us with enough packets of seeds to giveaway to our wonderful group of women at the end of the retreat? And guess what? They loved the idea! So this is how we ended up with a new sponsor, packets of seeds and soon - happy women that will receive them!

And.. another first: the "Women in Leadership: Empowering Your Leadership Potential" I delivered on 14th of April 2023

I designed the workshop at the request of the Irish Council of International Students (ICOS) and group indeed was very diverse and international with women coming from South Africa, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Liberia, Malawi & Mozambique.

These women are already such?#inspiring?and?#powerful?#leaders?in their?#communities?and contexts! Some of them have paused their careers to follow a 1-year Master's programme in Ireland or are studying to pursue careers in very challenging environments. Why challenging? Because they are often seen as ‘male-dominated’ areas such as - IT, agriculture,?#medicine,?#global?health,?#politics?and?#policy?making.

Together we looked into answering the question "What is good?#leadership?really?", what different leadership styles are there out there and what is our?#vision?for who we are as leaders? All of this whilst learning new tools on becoming more aware of our own strengths and weaknesses.

The feedback has been also very positive and encouraging:

"Kristiana provided me with the tools to identify my strengths and weaknesses and how I can address them to become the best leader I can be. Her workshops dig a little deeper and makes you really think about who you are." - Linda

Thank you for your active?#participation?and demonstrated?#determination?to change the world around us and overcome?#gender?biases! Through my workshop, I hope to have contributed to your efforts to make the world a more?#democratic,?#diverse?and?#equitable?place for all!

If you are interested to have a?#womenempowerment?workshop in your context, PM me!

Onwards! Xx
