Happy Canada Day! One of the most important holidays in Canada.
Happy Canada Day!?After the cancellation of two consecutive years, the celebration is back.?
Canada Day is a federal statutory holiday, the ones to celebrate the anniversary of the Canadian Confederation which occurred on July 1, 1867, with the passing of the British North America Act. in 1867, where the three separate colonies of the United Canadas, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick were united into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada.
The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, on July 1, 2022, issued the following "Statement on Canada Day":
Today, we celebrate the country we love, and the people we share it with. Canada is home to over 38 million people: Canadians who live in cities and towns – big and small; people who are indigenous to this land; and those who’ve been here for weeks, months, years, or for generations.
Canada is strong because of our diversity. No matter what our faith is, where we were born, what color our skin is, what language we speak, or whom we love – we are all equal members of this great country.
Today, we celebrate the place we all call home. I know for some, our country’s historic wrongs can make that difficult. But while we can’t change history, we can put in the work to build a better future; one that reflects our values of hope, resilience, kindness, respect, and generosity.
Generation after generation, Canadians have shown that we can deliver on those values. We did it when we adopted our charter in 1982, we did it when we took care of each other during the pandemic, and we do it every day when we welcome refugees with open arms.
Today is an opportunity for us all to recommit ourselves to those values – values that the Maple Leaf represents. Because our flag is more than a symbol, it’s also a promise. A promise of opportunity. A promise of safety for those fleeing violence and war. And a promise of a better life.
As we come together today, let’s think about what this country means to us – and tomorrow, let’s challenge ourselves to find new ways to live up to the great promise of Canada. From my family to yours, Happy Canada Day!
Closing the statement.

In Conclusion
The day concluded with some protests and divided opinions in general, but from my side, I'm more than thankful for all received from Canada. From the beginning, I experienced a warm welcome in Canada, as an immigrant, I have never been the victim of discrimination by my skin color, mother tongue, or beliefs. I had the opportunity to live, work, and study in other “Developed Countries” where leaders are using religion or race to divide the population. Canada is different its leaders promote respect for our cultural roots and motivate us to share our values with the community.?
For those and more reasons, The Economist, and other important publishers have positioned in the top ten Canadian cities, as this year positioned the cities of Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto in the 4th, 5th, and 8th row.
Being Canadian is not a passport, being Canadian is loving this country from the bottom of your heart and promoting the values the ones are doing Canada one of the best countries in the whole world.
God bless Canada and its leaders.?
