Happy Birthday GDC!

This past Friday evening I met my co-founder for a quick drink to catch up on a few topics. When I sat down he opened up his phone and showed me something that I had completely forgotten about. This weekend being the official anniversary date of the incorporation of GDC as GlobalDC LLC exactly 12 years ago.

It's been the classic journey of highs and lows; pivots and missteps; concerns over how to make payroll to concerns around maintaining our strong growth margins; Nights worried about what shoe is going to drop next to nights excited about the work to get done as soon as I could sneak out of bed.

We've met the most incredible people in the more than one million million miles flown. Many such as Vicki & Tony Fitzgibbon from DataZoo in Australia are friends for life while in other cases we've allowed great connections languish unintentionally (@Richard Law and @Dave Mead).

We've also had the pleasure of working with some of the most giving and brilliant people internally along the way. From Job Crowder (our #3) to Patrick Harris, Ted Baxa, Hal Thomas, Derek Williams, Simiao Liu and many others their efforts led to the assembly of the current team at GDC. Had it not been for all of those past team members we would not have the company we have today.

While predicting the future for the next 12 years is impossible to do, I can state without doubt that the past 12 years have absolutely been worth the pain, effort and sacrifice. I'd do it again if Tom Baker popped out of a police box and gave me a choice to redo it again.
