Happy Back to School Season...in Person!
Minds Matter Seattle
We help students from low-income families succeed in college, create their future, and change the world.
Happy back to school season from Minds Matter Seattle. This past month we began the 2022-2023 school year with our newest (and largest!) class of sophomores along with our returning classes of now juniors and seniors. We were able to come together during our kick-off session in person for the first time in two years. As an organization, we begin to rebuild our sense of community which is the core of our program at MMSEA.?
Now that we have begun the school year, students and volunteers filled the classrooms with excitement to kickstart the year and continue strong throughout the year! Our sophomores started to get to know their cohort with fun icebreakers and meet the instructors who will follow them throughout the year. At the same time, our juniors focused on test prep and goal setting for 2023. Finally, the senior class began to embark on the college application journey as they began writing personal statements and learning more about colleges.?
This year we have a total of?30?students?in our program from?10 different high schools?making it our biggest group of students yet! To support our program, we also have?80 volunteers?and?28 EC members?who take part of our weekly sessions at Seattle University.?Welcome everyone!?
As always, thank you for choosing Minds Matter Seattle. Volunteer opportunities are available (apply), and your financial gifts support our mission to transform the lives of accomplished high school students from low-income families by broadening their dreams and preparing them for college success (donate).
