Happiness is a state of mind and often not governed by the physical realm as construed!

Was the unhappiness not visible, or the rational mind negated it? There is a lot to unravel and to ponder about as truth gets de-layered from the perceived reality. Still, one can also conclude easily that most of us relate an individual's happiness with their ability to buy worldly things and comforts that fulfill our desires.

Successful, famous, rich, full-of-life, and a star with a huge fan following would have best described Sushant Singh till he was alive. Many wanted to be like him, and others were envious of him and his achievements only to know later that sadness and depression surrounded the mind of this happy go lucky face.

It is quite unsettling to realize mental health is still a taboo and often underplayed for strong perceptions held around it. The potential downside often far exceeds the upside by talking about issues related to one's mental health. It is not helping the cause and only inhibiting our ability to deal with these issues in a timely manner before it becomes too late.

I am not here to pass a value judgment or debate how right or wrong it was for Sushant to do what he did. But attempting to re-construct the entire maze often trapping individuals and leading them to a point from where coming back is never an option and calling it quits easier than to reconcile.

All that glitters is not gold! It quite aptly summarizes the truth that revolves around the ever flashing and dazzling world of Bollywood. Being a part of paparazzi is so mesmerizing and overwhelming that one does not realize when real-life becomes a reel life in their efforts to make a reel life look real. The accolades and applauds one's efforts garner for portraying them as real-life characters further push them into this vicious circle.

One does not even realize when this urge and need to be a part of this glamour world takes away their identity. Even before one could acknowledge, the individual is no better than a puppet trying to do everything right or wrong to remain relevant and, more importantly, be in the good books of the so-called inner circle.

When one meets success, things start changing and not always in the right way, as success often corrupts and clouds one’s judgment. While one starts enjoying being in the limelight and the buzz created around them by media, the feeling of being arrived starts questioning things one did earlier as belittling the newly found star image and stardom. This change often does not go well with the so-called inner circle and indeed turns into an ego issue if it has rubbed any one of them wrong.

Some are quick to realize and amend their ways and sort out things. They continue to be part of this world but re-adjusted to reality with a clear understanding of unwritten rules.

Those who do not reconcile are played with games that shame, ignore, reject, humiliate, and isolate until they become mentally very fragile and vulnerable.

A state of mind ensuring one believes there is only one option, and that would be to choose the path leading to self-destruction in all possible forms with no possibility of return.

Like every coin, the world of glamour has two sides to it. The one aspiring to be a part of it looks at the dazzle, and it's larger than life image but does not want to look at its darker side even if it exists. Once they see it, many are forced to think if there is a need to lead a life like this, and is it really worth it! When this realization happens, it may be too late to leave but difficult to leave leading a battle creating a void and feeling of emptiness !.

We all learned in economics that human wants are unlimited and that man is a rational being. The balance between the construct of desire and logic ensures sanity prevails. One follows restraint and self-control while dealing with both success and failure.

We all must realize success and failure are just an outcome and not the purpose of life. Sometimes when one realizes it may be too late to return or regain one's old life and identity.

One should not forget happiness is a state of mind that one chooses. It never comes to you because it comes from you!

Very well written. However this is not just a phenomenon in Bollywood. This can happen in any organisation. You get the patronage of some big boss, and climb up too quickly, the rest see you with suspicion. Then you become a loner. Once the patronage ends, you wonder what happened and start blaming yourself, not realising that you were just a pawn if a bigger game. I have seen this closely both in India and Middle East companies. The best approach is to keep reminding yourself of your true worth, and not gauge this from another person’s perspective.

Very well written. Also, quality of our life depends on the state of our mind. So, it's important to take care of our minds.
