Happiness!!

Happiness!!

Most of us pursue happiness as an ultimate goal – little did we realize that it is momentary and it comes and goes.

Countries with the highest happiness index are apparently directly rich (proportional to per capita GDP), however, these countries also have high suicide rates when compared to poor countries with very less happiness indexes like Syria, and Venezuela. So, there is more to life than just being happy – that is the “meaning of life”?

There is a myth in our culture that the search for meaning is some esoteric pursuit that you have to travel to a distant monastery or page through dusty volumes to figure out life’s great secret. Emily Esfahani Smith lays out the four pillars upon which meaning rests through her book “The Power of Meaning”

Belonging? We all need to find our tribe and forge relationships in which we feel understood, recognized, and valued to know we matter to others.

Purpose? We all need a far-reaching goal that motivates us serves as the organizing principle of our lives and drives us to make a contribution to the world.

Storytelling? We are all storytellers, taking our disparate experiences and assembling them into a coherent narrative that allows us to make sense of ourselves and the world.?

Transcendence?During a transcendent or mystical experience, we feel we have risen above the everyday world and are connected to something vast and meaningful.??

Emily talks through a lot of research examples in her book – to me, my Mother is a perfect example, who is full of life always irrespective of her situation at any time - ever since I remember her to date. In my younger days, I used to think that she is barely educated, had not seen the world enough, was ignorant about life, and behave immaturely - now I realize that she was embracing all pillars of her own - discovered the true route to happiness.

I am sure all of you would have similar people in your lives or you may be one of them - I recommend each of you to think and examine your life and build possibly some if not all pillars during these holidays – so that you can be full of life irrespective of conditions?- Discover your true route to happiness!! ?

Happy Holidays!! ??

You could have heard people saying, ‘I want to live a happy life’. Absolutely, it is an end goal for many. However, ‘Happiness’ is a temporary emotion that is totally based on external conditions. What we should aim for is ‘Bliss’. Bliss is a state of mind…. It is unaffected by external means, a uniform experience for everyone. Bliss = happiness + peace

Happiness comes from within us , it's a feeling thats developed by us alone . If i seem to be happy it's because that feeling is experienced by me due to some reasons around me . For me money is not happiness in life .The time when you feel satisfied and attained or achieved or acquired etc something that you wanted .....You can experience a feeling called Happiness !
