Happiness does not depend on what you have

Happiness does not depend on what you have

Do you know what are the things you have in your life that makes you happy?? Maybe or Maybe not. But I’m talking about something else. So, What I am talking about?? I am talking about....a mind with fully functional body. Food on your table. Clothes that you wear. A family or friends who cares for you. If you have all of the above than you’re more lucky enough than many people in this world.

But still there are So many humans who are not satisfied in what they have. Why is that?? It’s because their happiness depends on Something else. Maybe it depends on... - A certain amount of money - A loving partner.- Materialistic things like house, car property. - A desirable Job. - A successful business. - Social media likes and comments. Whatever it is.

You are giving your key of happiness to other things and people. And you’re satisfaction lock will always be locked. Just because You don’t have your key to unlock it. Now how you can get the Key? You don’t have to get it. It’s always in your hand or pocket and it’s just that you’ve thought you’ve put it somewhere else. So, When you feel gratitude about the things or people you already have. You feel happy inside out. Successful people are looking always happy or They are and they were always happy that’s why they are successful.

Many people could write entire books on this, but if I had to keep it short and simple, I’d say happiness depends on these things: Accepting yourself for who you are - being comfortable in your own skin. This means not trying to be someone you’re not, not comparing yourself unfavourably to others (“Look at him/her, he/she’s so much more ……. than me”). Positive self-talk. Listen to the voice inside your head when you talk to yourself. Do you say positive and encouraging things to yourself, or do you continually berate yourself for mistakes you make? (“You idiot, you’ve gone and done it again” versus “If you keep at it, you’ll do it even better next time!”)

Optimism. Anticipating good outcomes in life makes it more likely (not guaranteed) that you will achieve them. This doesn’t mean being delusional - clearly if you’ve attended 20% of classes for a college course and done no revision, you have no right to expect to pass the exam! Good health. I’m not a doctor but you can maximise your chances of this by, among other things: getting enough sleep, doing a little regular exercise, minimising junk food intake, not doing drugs. I could go on and on, but to summarise: look after your mental world and try to keep your body in a decent condition. Cheers!
