Happiness is a Choice

Do you wait for a ‘good day’? Or do you decide to have one?
Manoj used to believe that happiness depended on the weather, people, and luck. If something went wrong, his whole day was ruined.
One morning, his grandfather handed him a lemon. “What will you do with this?” he asked.
Manoj frowned. “It’s sour. What can I do?”
Dadaji smiled. “You can complain about it or turn it into something sweet. Happiness works the same way.”
That day, Manoj tried something different. Instead of waiting to see if the day was ‘good,’ he decided it would be. The milkman was late, a customer was rude, and his cycle got a flat tire—but he didn’t let it spoil his mood.
Over time, something amazing happened. The more he chose happiness, the better life seemed. His work felt lighter, people responded with kindness, and even his same old town felt new.
One day, his grandfather asked, “How’s life treating you?”
Manoj smiled, “Life is the same, but I have changed. Now, I don’t wait for happiness—I create it.”
Happiness is a choice. Don’t wait for a good day. Make one!
