Hanukkah Greetings

Empowering your charitable vision through philanthropic innovation, collaboration, and education.
Dear Friends and Supporters,
I find it particularly meaningful that the Hebrew month of Kislev takes place during the darkest time of year, where the days are short, and we are inclined to draw ourselves inward and retreat.?How beautiful then, that we have this opportunity to reflect on light, hope and miracles in celebration of Hanukkah!?The Winter Solstice, the longest night of the year, takes place during the week of Hanukkah, the Festival of Light.?This contrast between lightness and darkness, between kindling a flame and the outside cold, makes the timing of this festival extra joyful and meaningful.
We are told to put our menorahs in the window specifically so that others can see our light.?As you may know, the menorah has a 9th candle, “the Shamash” which is set apart from the other 8 candles we light at Hanukkah.?Here at the DJCF, your charitable gifts serve as the Shamash candle, kindling the lights of hope and possibility for critical nonprofit agencies in Dallas and around the world, and represent the power of each individual to share and spread light.?
This festival comes to remind us that the light we see in each other are a reflection of our own. And as we say, it is in the darkness that we have the power to shine most brightly. The DJCF stands ready to help you and your family shine bright this giving season.?Some examples of ways in which we are partnering with donors include:

May we each experience our own miracles in exactly the way we need them. And may the Hanukkah?lights we kindle bring light wherever it is needed!
