Hans Zimmer, Hans Zimmer Live, Dubai, May 31, 2024

“Thank you for the warm welcome, Dubai. I probably heard over 1000 different things said to me now from the audience, which reflects how my mind thinks,” said Hans Zimmer.

——?

I had the fantastic opportunity to meet Hans Zimmer and watch his impressive show in Dubai. Honestly, I was not too familiar with him, but I obviously heard most of the songs he created. This was one of the best shows I have watched in my life. Kudos to Hans Zimmer and his entire crew. It was extraordinary.

Now, why am I posting this on LinkedIn and not Facebook? One thing that Hans said during the opening when thousands of people were chanting to him, resonated with me in my business career and life.

“Thank you for the warm welcome, Dubai. I probably heard over 1000 different things said to me now from the audience, which reflects how my mind thinks.” Hans Zimmer, Hans Zimmer Live, Opening Statement, Dubai, May 31, 2024.

Why does this resonate, and why is it relevant???Watching Hans Zimmer’s show and listening to his music, I knew exactly what he meant. Every piece of instrument, every person, every move, every beat, every part of the creation and delivery of that show came out in one of the best presentations of song creation, music, creativity, lighting, sound, and entertainment that blew my mind away. There were 1000s of small pieces of mastery came together to make a pro-founding impact on the world of entertainment and delivery of some of the best songs ever made!??Finally, the smile and energy Hans delivered on the stage add to the precious moments engraved in my heart for life.?

What Hans delivered on stage yesterday is precisely what I aspire to do every day of my business career.??I put a lot of effort, careful consideration, and tactics into making people, teams, companies, processes, and interactions to make the teams I lead and interact with work seamlessly together to achieve unprecedented results!? I always aspire to do that while keeping a smile and bringing positive energy to the business, similar to what Hans demonstrated on stage.

I would love to hear anyone’s feedback and thoughts on this, especially from the people I worked with, interacted with, or partnered with across the vast geographies I worked across from the United States, Canada, the Caribbean, and the Middle East and Africa.

I didn't know about Hans Zimmer until I've seen your post, and I trust Tamer Shibl when it comes to music taste, but what I really know, lived and enjoyed is working with you Hani. I agree to each and every statement you wrote about how you lead and interact with your teams. The smile, the humble talk, the encouraging words that you share are unforgettable (The unfair joke, the top adaptation of the executive presence training and many more were remembered even years after you left) I've learnt a lot from your leadership and I am sure that many others did as well. Wishing you all the best

Leadership is not about a title, position, or certificate; it's about practice. When I watched the making of the Dune movie soundtrack, (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93A1ryc-WW0) I saw how Hans Zimmer collaborated with a flute player, experimenting with different options until they achieved the desired wind sound. This reminded me of a day when the company's system was down—no one could access any system, shops couldn't serve customers, and even the technical experts were stumped. Yet, our COO, Hani ELKukhun, wasn't giving orders from his 27th-floor office. Instead, he was working side by side with a junior IT help desk employee, determined to find and fix the issue. And he did it. He was with the team, smiling and reassuring everyone that the problem could be solved if we continued to think and work together. This is the true meaning of leadership. The amazing show you watched yesterday is a result of the spirit Hans Zimmer instilled in his musicians, a spirit I experienced firsthand while working as a member of your team. Keep up the great work, Hani.
