Hanging by a thread....

The significance of a piece of thread is that I'm using it to illustrate what many agents Medicare client data is hanging by if they use a system provided to them from their uplines for "free".

How can this be?

The 2025 CMS final marketing rule goes into effect on September 20th 2024. The rule disallows the use of the "free" Medicare systems and CRM's brought to you by your upline.

CMS views these tools as extra compensation.

The mass conglomerates, NMO's, IMO's, FMO's will tell you not to worry about this.

Why? A Texas judge issued a "stay" order until the lawsuit brought by these entities against CMS is settled.

This "stay" order is TEMPORARY.

The "stay" could be overturned by a higher court.

The lawsuit could be lost and the rule go into effect immediately.

Are agents getting blindsided?

Yes! Just like the federal government Part D one year subsidy to put off huge rate increases in premiums during an election year, your hierarchy is telling you all is good and it is business as usual. Your client data is fine.

What you need to remember?

At the end of the day, the reality is, your client data in these systems is hanging by a thread.

Like all powerful government entities, CMS will get its way on this.
