Hangin' with Gary Ferguson
I got to catch singer-songwriter-guitarist-friend Gary Ferguson's recent show at "Bud's at Silver Run" in Silver Run, MD. Gary (at center in photo), who also owns Gunny Sack Music, creates music that spans bluegrass, folk, Americana, country and even Celtic genres. Gary was accompanied by mandolin player extraordinaire Marc MacGlashan (at right), whose background includes work as a Nashville bluegrass musician.
Highlights of Gary's music career, which stretches back to the 1980s, include Larry Sparks' recording of Gary's "Last Day at Gettysburg," which has been covered by artists around the globe, and concert tours of Ireland from 2005-2019.
The show at Bud's also featured Kevin Neidig, an outstanding Americana singer-songwriter-multi instrumentalist.
