The Department of Computer Science at Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore, organized a two-day hands-on training program on Advanced Techniques for Laptop Troubleshooting and Servicing on February 18 and 19, 2025. The session was held at SG Hall and was conducted by Dr. B. Krishnakumar, Founder and CEO of New Technology Institutions, Coimbatore. The workshop was designed to equip students with in-depth knowledge of diagnosing and repairing laptop hardware and software issues, enhancing their technical proficiency in computer servicing.
During the training, students were introduced to hardware diagnostics, BIOS settings, RAM and hard disk troubleshooting, motherboard repairs, and software reinstallation techniques. Dr. Krishnakumar provided live demonstrations of handling hardware components, identifying common failures, and resolving critical system errors. Students actively participated in disassembling and assembling laptops, learning how to replace damaged components, and understanding the significance of preventive maintenance to enhance system longevity.
A notable highlight of the session was an additional module on mobile troubleshooting techniques, where students learned how to diagnose and repair common mobile phone issues. Topics such as battery replacement, screen repairs, software updates, and network troubleshooting were covered. This additional learning opportunity enabled students to expand their knowledge beyond laptops and gain insights into the fast-growing field of mobile servicing, which is in high demand in the technology industry.
The training program was interactive and engaging, allowing students to work hands-on with different laptop models and troubleshoot real-time issues under expert guidance. The practical approach helped them develop problem-solving skills and gain confidence in handling laptop and mobile repairs independently. The students expressed enthusiasm in exploring advanced servicing techniques and appreciated the opportunity to work with industry-standard tools and equipment.
