Hands-on Open Innovation at the Makerspace @ Munich Urban Colab!

In my very first article I’d like to share something that is close to my heart: Open Innovation & Collaboration!??

Ever had an idea – but didn’t know where to begin??

Imagine a place where you can find all utilities and resources to realize your idea. From the latest technology like Industrial IoT and robotics to expert knowledge and a supportive community – UnternehmerTUM MakerSpace GmbH at the Munich Urban Colab is the place to be!

At MakerSpace, students, start-ups, as well as larger companies (like Siemens!) gather and bring innovative projects to life.

And why is this place so special to me? MakerSpace offers a variety of tools and utilities not typically found in universities or workplaces which encourages collaborative work, provides a safe testing environment, and supports prototype development. A perfect experimentation space for innovators!?

Exploring Business Opportunities with Siemens!?

What role does Siemens have in all this? MakerSpace is home to five Siemens Labs – including the Innovation Excellence Lab by Siemens Industry . This lab supports anyone in exploring Industrial Edge applications for leveraging machine and process data to create customized digital business models.

In collaboration with MakerSpace, our experts on-site host events where you can gain hands-on experience with #IndustrialEdge, discover its various applications, and exchange with experts!?

But well, there are numerous innovation events going on - what makes events at MakerSpace so special??

It's because these events are always a collaborative effort between Siemens and our partners from the Munich Ecosystem like students, start-ups and corporates! Like-minded people come together from diverse backgrounds and areas to set impulses, share expertise and kickstart open innovation.

For me, a perfect condition to learn from each other and for innovation to thrive.??

So, this is what our colleagues from Siemens initiated to bring all of you (!) together:?

?? SPEED NETWORKING events like the once we had on IoT in Financial Services with over 30 participants from finance institutes, corporates, and startups to jointly create innovative business models.?

?? WORKSHOPS where you learn to utilize the Edge platform and even develop your own applications.??

?? MEETUPS with enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds exchange insights on Edge technology's use cases and its future potential.?
