HAND-Y Moth Storytelling Outline
Cathy L. Davis
Professional Publishing Consultant #1 International Best-Selling Author Publisher/Ghost Publisher Speaker/Trainer It’s not about how well your book sells; it IS all about how well your book sells YOU!
Storytelling engages your audience and invites them into your KNOW-LIKE-TRUST funnel.
A few years ago, I had the opportunity to attend a weekend speaker’s workshop in NYC. One particular afternoon, we spent under the tutelage of a producer from The Moth. If you are not familiar with The Moth, you can find it on NPR, and according to their website,?“The Moth shares true stories, told live and without notes. We celebrate the ability of true, personal storytelling to illuminate both the diversity and commonality of human experience.”
Whether I’m preparing for a speech, facilitating a workshop, or writing a blog, this “HAND-Y” Moth Storytelling Outline helps me organize my thoughts.
The fun part is that if I need to stretch my time when speaking, or lengthen my written piece, I simply add in extra fingers . . . another supporting story and point. If I’m short on time or space, I delete a finger!
Storytelling helps you share your gift for helping others. Your perspective may be exactly what someone needs to offer hope and a plan for what, to them, may seem to be insurmountable problems.
Whether you are writing a single chapter for our next anthology (collection of essays) or starting the first chapter in your solo book, this “HAND-Y” Moth Storytelling Outline is a great place to start. This is just one of the ways we help our clients navigate the sometimes-overwhelming waters of becoming an author.
