Hand to Hand in Pattaya, Thailand with Margaret Grainger
Sometimes in life you are lucky enough to come across someone who is incredibly gifted, thoughtful, caring and thinks about others before themselves
Margaret Grainger is one of those very special people. Margaret left Australia to teach KG in an International School in Thailand but very quickly discovered her true vocation was helping the less fortunate, adults and children in the Pattaya area of Thailand
After witnessing poor parents abandoning their children to orphanages, Margaret set up a charitable foundation - Hand to Hand - which helps to feed, clothe, house and give medical assistance and education to children so that they can remain with their families. Margaret also cares for abandoned and abused children in the Pattaya area and gives continuing care to the poor within the slums and mothers who find themselves in the local jail system with children
From small beginnings, Margaret's calling became all encompassing. Hand to Hand required more and more of Margaret's time and with a wonderful team behind her, the impact she is making within the streets and slums of Pattaya is growing rapidly. Before long new premises were required. Margaret had touched so many lives and her selfless 24/7 commitment encouraged so many others to willingly donate whatever and whenever they could
Hand to Hand is expanding, reaching out further into the Pattaya community. Donations, no matter how small are graciously received and every single item donated put to good use. From the classroom to the slum, jail and hospital visits, or simply just cuddling abandoned babies for a few hours, Margaret and her team of volunteers work tirelessly for the lives of those who need it most
