Hammam origin
Travel back in time and discover the origins
By entering in the hammam, soak up in the culture and its origins. Hammam which means 'hot water' in Arabic has its origins in the Roman baths. At the beginning, in several Arab countries it was a public place, but quickly the hammam has become more and more popular as a place to relax.
In a traditional hammam, you will discover between two to four rooms of different temperature and density. The first element of a good hammam is heat, 100% water-saturated, it increases as you discover the different rooms, reaching up to 50 ° C. The principle is to alternate between the different rooms to activate blood circulation.
When you have a cold, the hammam facilitates respiration by releasing the sinus and nasal routes. It also offers benefits to soothe muscle pain caused by rheumatism, especially when we end the hammam session by a hot bath.
The hammam is ideal when you are stressed, tired, physically or morally, after a workout, or just to find yourself in a relaxing environment with friends.

6 年Lovely article, but the word hammam in Arabic means 'spreader of warmth.'
