Hamburg's Sustainable Cabin Concept: FAIRcraft at the Hamburg Innovation Summit

Dear Subscribers,

If the halls of the Oberhafen quarter could talk, they'd have quite a few stories to tell. Formerly a collection of goods sheds and railway station buildings serving the city for over a century, they recently provided a stage for innovative ideas and sustainable technology during the Hamburg Innovation Summit.

Among the concepts and ideas presented at the summit was FAIRcraft, a project supported by the GATE Green Aviation Technologies R&D funding programme. FAIRcraft is a unique, ultra-low-weight recyclable aircraft cabin developed by a cross-industry group of aviation and design companies from Hamburg. Among the visitors to the FAIRcraft booth was Mayor Peter Tschentscher , who stopped by to find out more about FAIRcraft and ended up engrossed in conversations with Christian-Andre Keun and Sebastian Mends-Cole , two of the minds behind FAIRcraft.

The Oberhafen quarter is also the home of our sister cluster organisation for the city's creative industry, Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft , which co-initiated the FAIRcraft project together with us. Collaborating with other industries opens up new opportunities for us to work on cross-sectoral topics such as decarbonisation, letting everyone make faster progress by pooling resources and expertise.

We're currently working on a new, cross-cluster decarbonisation project for Hamburg aimed at SMEs, which we will be rolling out soon together with other cluster agencies - watch this space!
