Take a step back and remember how we got to this federal holiday commemorating the Declaration of Independence, which was ratified by the Second Continental Congress on July 4, 1776.

The independent nation of the United States of America was established because of our Founding Fathers, American soldiers and Allies, and countless other individuals who sacrificed their lives for us.

This is the time to celebrate being an American.

We are alive, we have freedom and we can pursue daily joy. How lucky are we?

Spend this amazing holiday with the ones you love. Light the fireworks. Have the cocktails. Cook the burgers. Go to the parades. Jump off the diving board. Be a kid again!

You and I both know how special it is to live in a country where we can create a life worth living. Marry your person. Buy the house of your dreams. Raise a family. Purchase your dream car. Pursue a business or career - you name it!

We are lucky. So, cheers to it!
