Half a solar lap at Enphase

It has been a whirlwind six months at Enphase, and today is launch day for a ton of the comms and content work. The world of clean energy is dynamic and thrilling — some of the smartest people in the world are working in labs right now to advance sustainable energy, many more are engineering and manufacturing it, thousands of businesses are starting up to actually install this stuff on peoples' homes, millions of people are reducing energy bills and keeping the lights on, and I’ve been fortunate to work with all of those groups for three years now.

But it's dense and challenging! Watts and watt-hours, direct and alternating current, grid forming and following — it’s intimidating even for people who paid attention in science class. You can't find an industry with more potential or importance for humanity, paired with frustration and confusion for everyday people.

For comms/content, it’s about insight, inspiration, and losing the noise. Today we have coverage of the world’s first product that lets you run your home on only solar power in an outage (file that under TIL for many).

On the web, we have a new page full of videos from customers around the US who live in the energy future, today — and they want you to know what it's like.

Solar products live in tough conditions for decades, so we went "behind the scenes" of a reliability lab where products cook for weeks at 185F and 85 percent humidity to prove they can hold up in conditions that don't even exist on Earth.

Then to cap it off, a video that pulls it all together with the “so what?” It turns out we already have everything we need for a clean energy future. We just need the will to go after it.
