Half Moon

Half Moon

For readers who read my work in the New Straits Times and also for those here at LinkedIn who may have read my post on coffee and civility you may wonder if any particular coffee shop informs my writing on this critical subject. The cafe that I visit almost every day for over a decade when I am at home is called Half Moon Cafe. I see it as an example of good food, good coffee and good friendly service. Its kind of a home away from home for me just up the street! In my article on Coffee Drinking and Civility I was specifically thinking of Half

Moon Cafe as my critical reference.

I am not alone in my high estimation of the Half Moon Cafe. It has favorable write ups in Urban Spoon and many other blog and foodie sites on the web (just Google Half Moon Cafe). However the latest I have heard from Nabil the owner of the Cafe is that Half Moon Cafe gets a very good mention in CITIx60 Melbourne which is a travelers guide targeted at independent and creative travelers.

I guess in this posting I just wanted to add a little local color from Melbourne, Australia and show readers one of the places that has inspired me to write. Readers will know that from Padang to Penang and beyond I am inspired by great food and great drink. However I wanted to bring to peoples attention a place that is a little closer to home and show those of you from far and near that my local area is also a great place for food and drink and really a great place to experience multi-cultural Australia in all its glory.

There is a Half Moon restaurant in South City, Serdang. It's the Yemeni food I've tasted. :)

How I wish I could drop by at this place on one fine day.
