Halcom's new office: shaping the future of work

The post-pandemic landscape has underscored the importance of reimagining work environments. Modern workspaces are evolving, with a focus on the intersection of remote and office work, reflecting the desire for flexibility and interpersonal connections among employees. Therefore, we decided it is time for us to relocate into new office from one part of Ljubljana to another.

Designing for success: trends in organizational work

Current trends in work organization emphasize a harmonious blend of remote and in-office work. Employees seek the ability to work from home while valuing opportunities for physical interaction with their colleagues. Flexibility, leisure promotion, social engagement, and initiatives promoting a healthy lifestyle have become pivotal aspects of the evolving workplace.

Halcom's vision: crafting an optimal work environment

Halcom's vision was to create an environment that prioritizes efficiency, flexibility, and a relaxed atmosphere. The incorporation of communal spaces for socializing, abundant greenery, and a spacious kitchen for employee meals demonstrates a commitment to holistic well-being. High-quality furniture, ambient lighting, and top-notch equipment further enhance the overall work environment.

Architectural marvel: transforming Printing house's legacy

Halcom's new office in Ljubljana is situated in the newly renovated building of the former Mladinska Knjiga printing house, occupying one of the three sections that once constituted an industrial complex, originally designed by architect Savin Sever.

Strategically positioned, three galleries optimize spatial functionality in the office and foster diversity within the workspace. Shared areas, well-illuminated and seamlessly connected, promote collaboration and integrate seamlessly with naturally lit workspaces. Supported by slender steel columns, islands within the office space create open and transparent microenvironments. These columns bear a full enclosure, resembling a low and broad container for lush greenery, contributing to the workspace's aesthetic and biophilic appeal.

Personalized workspaces for the future

The future of workspaces goes beyond diversity; it demands personalization. Traditional offices are giving way to spaces tailored to various work requirements, including collaboration zones, relaxation areas, and individual workspaces. Crafting a holistic strategy aligned with the Halcom’s broader goals was essential in navigating today's transformative landscape.

Employee involvement: a key element in relocation

Halcom prioritized employee involvement from the early stages of the relocation process. Consultants specializing in business spaces gathered employee insights covering remote and office work, workplace experiences, comfort, and integration. Employee opinions played a pivotal role in decision-making, fostering a positive outlook on the relocation.

Achieving goals through architecture: Halcom’s dynamic work environment

Halcom successfully achieved its pre-relocation goals, focusing on fostering socialization and strengthening connections between different programs. The ongoing commitment to adapt and cater to employees' evolving needs ensures a dynamic and thriving work environment. The new office embodies a harmonious blend of functionality, aesthetics and employee satisfaction.
