Chapter 3- Haircut Cost Takeout - The IT Way

As I strolled into Ali's peculiar barber shop, a newspaper flyer promoting irresistible discounts on haircuts caught my eye. Given the mysterious disappearance of my annual bonus and the fact that my bank account seemed to be on a perpetual diet, I decided it was high time to have a candid chat with the Sultan of Shears.

"Ali," I ventured, "let's discuss how I might snag some discounts. I haven't received any bonus this year, and you haven't delivered on those life-changing transformations you promised."

Ali's face bore the weight of the world, and he sighed deeply. "My friend, it's not as easy as it sounds. The cost of living is skyrocketing, and the price of quality hair products is through the roof. My son Imran works for an IT services company; let’s use his playbook and brainstorm."

With a mischievous glint in his eye, Ali leaned closer. "Let's fly in Jose from Mexico to do haircuts on a budget, with a fiesta twist!"

I couldn't help but chuckle at the audacity of the idea. "Ali, that's bold thinking! What's next on our cost-cutting journey?"

He scratched his chin, his barber's smock adorned with various clippings of hair. "Well, if you're feeling adventurous, we could hire rookies fresh out of hairdressing school. Young blood, you know, eager to prove themselves."

I laughed at the thought of a novice handling my precious locks. "Ali, can you imagine a newbie with scissors near my hair? What's the next wild idea?"

Ali's eyes twinkled with mischief. "Oh, it could be an exploration! But if that doesn't appeal to you, how about offering haircuts in phases with easy payment options? You can pay for the top half first and the bottom half later."

I considered this proposal for a moment. "That's intriguing, Ali. It's like the 'pay as you go' plan for haircuts. But what else?"

Ali leaned in, a glint of excitement in his eyes. "For the adventurous souls, we could offer customers the opportunity to share the experience by cutting half their hair themselves, with a generous discount, of course!"

I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of customers attempting their own haircuts. "Ali, you're truly a maestro of cutting, be it hair or costs. What's your next masterpiece?"

As I left the barbershop, I couldn't help but marvel at the uncanny parallels between Ali's pursuit of cost-cutting and the relentless drive for efficiency in the IT services world. Whether it's haircuts or IT services, Ali's ideas had shown me that the line between innovative cost-saving measures and sheer absurdity is often finer than a strand of hair.

Well said Mohit. Actually across all sectors the cost cutting measures do sound obscure and insane, beyond any reasonable expectation.
