Hair Brands - 4 tips- How to take better photos
So you are great at what you do, which is create fantastic hair looks through styling, extensions, and colouring. But the photos you take just don’t show this. OK, so you aren’t a photographer. But with my 4 tips in the post, you will be taking photos like a pro.
The goal you should be reaching for is that ad-like image that will wow your potential clients when they scroll over to your Instagram or Pinterest feed. You want to have that stop scrolling effect, and I’m going to show you how.
The Hair
Having a good image is great, but not having the hair to go with it is just a waste of time. Obvious, I know. Make sure that it's your best work and something that you can’t wait to show off. This means if you are going for a messy look, then be sure it's the messiest look that you are proud of.
The Setup
You may have heard photographers or videographers mention how good lighting creates a good photo or video. Well, they aren’t wrong. If you have bad lighting, you will take a bad photo, so be sure to have at least a panel light to really show off your talent. A ring light is alright but doesn’t give the best finishing look. You can use natural light as a light source. also cheaper. I have a good background also. Taking a photo with a dull, crap background will just reduce the quality and not give the photo any justice. Use a solid coloured background. Having one that has patterns or your logo all over the back will draw attention away from what's important; the hair.
