I underwent surgery three years ago and I became a surgeon.
This is not a story you hear often, so you may not be familiar with it.
I am indeed a surgeon.
But not for the operating room.
...not for hearts or livers or kidneys or even brain cells, like Dr. Ben Carson.
I became a syntax surgeon. And this is my story.????
Three years ago, I read an article from a blog that talked about prostitution.
It was such an interesting article but I couldn't read up to the second paragraph.
Do you know why?
In each sentence, there were so many grammatical errors and the next sentence just didn't flow from the former. It was poorly crafted.
My eyes just couldn't keep up with it and I dumped it even though I was very interested in it.??
I mean, whoever the blogger was, had the idea but he didn't know how to put it down on paper nor did he think of hiring a professional proofreader to run some edits for him on that copy.

That was when I decided to become a proofreader so that I could edit my works by myself and do that for others too. I swore to never let my audience suffer their eyesight. So I took courses and worked towards it.
Then, when I joined LinkedIn about a year ago to build my brand and showcase my proofreading skills, I found out that so much of the content put out by most creators, even the professional ones, was just like the article that prompted me to become a proofreader.
Although they had value, they mostly had grammatical errors and most of them didn't make use of transitional words or phrases.
Since no doctor lets his patient get worse when there is a treatment available, we can deal with creator slip-ups...
