In June, we recorded a total of 1,407 cyber incidents, spanning defacements, hacker forums, leak reports, news, official sources, and rampant ransomware attacks. 1. Cyber Incidents Breakdown

In June, the cyber landscape remained volatile, with a total of 1,407 reported incidents. Here's a breakdown of these cyber incidents:

  1. Defacements: A significant portion of these incidents, 676, were defacements. This number highlights the ongoing threat to website integrity, where attackers modify website content or appearance without permission.
  2. Hacker Forum Activities: There were 138 instances of activities on hacker forums, which points to the vibrant underground market for cyber threats. These forums are often spaces where cybercriminals exchange information, tools, and services related to hacking.
  3. Leak Reports: The month saw 40 leak reports, emphasizing the persistent risk of data exposure. This figure underlines the issues surrounding data breaches and the unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.
  4. News Coverage: News sources reported on 159 cyber incidents, reflecting the significant attention these threats receive in the media and the importance of cybersecurity in public discourse.
  5. Official Reports: There were 91 incidents reported through official channels, showcasing the broad awareness and response to cyber threats from governmental and regulatory bodies.
  6. Ransomware Incidents: Ransomware attacks remained rampant with 301 recorded incidents, underscoring the prevalent and persistent nature of this type of cyber threat.
  7. SEC Filings: SEC filings accounted for 2 incidents, contributing to the overall understanding of the cyber threat landscape and emphasizing the importance of continuous monitoring and reporting.

2. Most Active Ransomware Gangs

The ransomware scene was dominated by Play at 29, closely followed by Ransom Hub at 27 and Cactus coming in at 21.

Other notable gangs:

Akira: 19 incidents

INC: 16 incidents

Medusa: 16 incidents
