Hacking satellite data towards improved aviation safety.

Benefits from patents re-usage and technology application across industries – were among hot topics discussed yesterday at European SpaceTech Transfer Forum #ESTTF2019 in Warsaw.

I was invited to run DemoDay showcase - a presentation of using Copernicus satellite, radar and IoT data streams for benefit of air traffic and birds safety. Together with Jacek Stryczyński we have additionally joined an Open Innovation Network pitch session and shared our experience among innovative start-ups.

Warm thanks for its organisation to Kamila Bitner and valuable insights from ESTTF panellists Frank Salzgeber (esa), Manuel Heredia Ortiz (Airbus), Tatjana Winter (Deutsche Bahn Digital Ventures), Sam Waes (Verhaert) and the audience. We are thankful for the very positive feedback.

Doing own experiments with #bigdata is exciting. Using satellite data sharpened our curiosity even further. Information from #Copernicus, radars and IoT, used in #aviation is the example of SpaceTech Technology Transfer.

During few recent months we went from solution idea through its feasibility assessment up to a solution prototype. Step by step, we add business perspective and responded to current wave of European Sky digitization. Yesterday we have finalized the stage of the first acceleration thanks to our mentor Grzegorz Nykiel and KPT. As one chapter closes, a next opens instantly. It will be time to visit future customers, explore details of interoperability, agree upon the win-win funding and business models. Thanks to your feedback we feel we are on the right path.

Hacking satellite data towards improved aviation safety can be compared with "rocket science". Stay tuned and share energy with us on this journey.
