Hackathon Submission Tips

Hackathon Submission Tips

We’re sure you’ve wondered, “how can I make my hackathon submission amazing.” Well lucky for you,? our Devpost project managers who have reviewed thousands of submissions over the years are sharing their tips to help your submission stand out.

Start With The Basics First

“Address what the hackathon is asking for: read the site in full before you start planning a project. pay special attention to the specific requirements, any relevant inspiration or resources, and the judging criteria. the criteria will help you focus your ideas on what the hackathon judges are looking for.” - Stefanie, Devpost Head of Customer Success

Show Off Your Submission, Be Proud of Your Work

“No one will know your project is awesome unless you tell them it is. Make your project sparkle in a demo video and description. Your project could very well be magical, but if you don't show it, no one will know it.” - Michelle, Devpost PM

Timing is Key

“Submit your project 5 days before the deadline. This will give you ample time to squash lingering bugs, upload your video, and get feedback.” - Michelle, Devpost PM
