Hackathon @AccelQ ( May 1 – May 2 , 2021)

In this Blog , I am going to share my experience and learnings from Hackathon @AccelQ and powered by The Test Tribe Community.

I had participated in Hackathon – AccelQ was just like 36 hours Sprint (time to learn , try and implement) in which we need to start with each step i.e. Requirement Understand , build. I never had any clue for this tool before the Start Day of Hackathon and about it’s features. It was started at 10 AM IST with full enthusiasm and energy to get into this new Weekend Challenge. It was started with Introductory session from Guljeet Nagpaul (Chief & Product & Strategy , AccelQ) and Azhar Shams (The Test Tribe) encouraged us to get into this great challenge.

About Hackathon: Hackathon is was continued for 2 Days to complete the Challenge of 5 Exercises which were shared to Automate using AccelQ Automation tool. The document was very well designed which helps to understand the Challenge easily along with helping videos and document for reference and understand the features which need to be implemented.

Day 1 : Hackathon Challenge was shared at around 10:30 AM with all the participants as kickoff an exciting journey for next 36 hours. I just gone through the Requirements or Problem Statement which seems very easy to implement but New to tool which makes an interesting to explore and use prior Automation experience. I never thought that I would be able to complete my first test script in 20 minutes and learn this tool in very less time. But still , many other features to explore , got the confidence like can work easily . Then , decided to explore the tool more then start with other Challenges which will help me to complete other tasks easily. I started with AccelQ User guide and start exploring along with ACCELQ Product Guide , it was decigned in such a way to increase an interest to explore more and more. I was just playing around the features available for full day and end up with 3 Challenges.

Day 2: I just started with my rest of 2 challenges for which it took around 1.5 hours to complete as End to End flow. Once completed all tasks then start working on different features to be implemented , parameterization , execute and Fail for analysis and how to overcome these by using in-built functions to make more robust. AccelQ have the huge set of functions i.e. around 500 in-built commands to use( Element Library and Framework Library). It was like just think and command is available to use which helps being an Automation tester to make our script robust with No code to write.

Finally , at the end of day we had wrap up session where all participants were still with same energy and shared their experiences on tool usage , challenges , team working experience , support from AccelQ team through out 36 hours to support all the participants on slack channel and was very quick to reply or make any technical changes if required be.

We are now waiting for Results which will be announced after evaluation on 15th May. I will plan to have next blog on tool specific and share experiences.

Keep learning and Keep Safe!!!!!!
