Every weight loss journey is a story to be told. You ensure not to lose focus and avoid to take in spare calories.
But, it leaves you confounding to see someone eating well, and still not putting on much weight? Well, this is nothing to do with the persona of people. It is all about body metabolism. You will tend to burn more calories if the rate of body metabolism is high. That’s why some people eat more and still not gain much weight.
So, it is often advised by the nutritionist to boost your metabolism if you really wish to shed extra pounds. Here are some easy metabolism hacks for easy weight loss.
- Chose to be stand-up
The extended work hours and the sedentary lifestyle has badly affected our health. The reason why sitting has been dubbed as the new smoking. Keeping health as a prime concern, the concept of standing-desk was welcomed.
Working on standing-desk instead of sitting and working has become one of the biggest health improvement movements in recent years, particularly in the workplace.
Studies say that people burn over 0.15 calories per minute while standing. Where men can burn up to 0.2 calories, the women can burn 0.1 calories per minute just by standing.
2. Lift to lose
Your muscles are metabolically more active than the fats. Lifting weight is helpful in both building and retaining muscles. The weight-lifting will bring you lean muscle mass that helps in speed up your resting metabolism.
So, building muscles by lifting weight will boost metabolism and eventually help in weight loss.
3. Remember 'protein with every meal'
The process of digestion, absorption and disposal of the ingested nutrients also requires energy. This is termed as the thermic effect of food (TEF). So foods having greater TEF will help you lose more weight. Study shows that protein-rich food like milk and other dairy products, eggs, legumes, soya, beans etc increases TEF the most.
Protein-rich foods increase body metabolic rate by 15–30%, while it is 5–10% for carbs and 0–3% for fats.
Bringing small lifestyle changes can give you amazing results. Incorporating these hacks and by mindful eating into your routine will definitely increase your metabolism. And, once you boost your metabolism, you are all set to lose weight conveniently.
