Habits and Why They Matter

Every day between 6.13 am and 6.15 am, I hear a short blast of the horn of a school bus. I know the time because I am usually awake by then. I think it's absolutely brutal for children to wake up at such an odd time, but the hustle and bustle of Lagos means it has to happen in order to beat traffic.?
What does this have to do with money on a fine Wednesday morning like this? Several habits are involved. The bus driver may have developed the habit of coming early to pick the children and on time. The children and parents would have developed the habit of waking up early and getting ready before the bus arrives (because the bus driver consistently arrives early). As human beings, we are creatures of habit.?
Last week’s newsletter was about the need to have a plan for the year and the qualities of a good plan. The most beautiful plan, however, will come to naught without execution. Execution is impossible without a consistent (and dare I say boring) repetition of actions on a regular. In short habits.?
Today is the 12th of January. In a few days from now, we will be halfway through the month. The whole 'new year, new me' drive has begun to fade. For many, this is the point where they simply let things go and return to their old ways. It is also about the same period when January (or December?) pay is essentially gone and people start counting down to the end of the month.?
Why not take things systematically? What new habits do you need to adopt and start developing (if they are absent)? What habits do you need to maintain (if you have them already)??

Do you need to create time to learn about what’s happening in the world of investing? Do you need to track your expenses (or debtors)? Everything boils down to rinsing and repeating on a daily basis. Start with baby steps. Then pick up your pace gradually. Give room for a few off/cheat days. You are human.?
One of the ways you can keep yourself constantly motivated is to be in a community of like minds.?
We would love to have you in our community if you are interested in smashing your 2022 financial goals. It takes at least 30 days to build great habits that will last you a lifetime. So why not start now? There is a lot you can achieve between now and the end of the year.
