2. Know the Market

Successful Investors always ensure they understand the market they are buying into. They make good market research about the location advantages and how this will be profitable on their investment.

Real Estate Market is highly predictable, in as much there's planned and proposed development in an area, this will eventually lead to development and appreciation on your property. A wise saying goes thus" Buy Land where People and Development are going to".

A very good way to know the market is to talk to an expert in the field, an expert can be a practicing, professional Realtor whose work is making research and recommending good deals for Investors. An expert can also be a real estate developer who has years of experience in Real Estate, providing real estate services. An expert can also be your friend, a relative who you have seen has a successful real estate Investor, you can work up to him or her to share from his long-time experience, ideas and advice with you.

To know the market, you are investing in is highly important to help you generate good returns on your investment. Rate and development of property defers as location defers.

A good example is what a client told me about him and his friend. He bought a property 5 years ago at Abraham Adesanya, Ajah, Lagos State for 15M while his friend bought at Egbeda, Lagos for same price. Right now, Abraham Adesanya property worth 80m while that of Egbeda worth 35m. Can you see difference?
