Habits that Change You!

Fear & Failure are universal. Everyone in their personal or professional life must have faced fear or failure.

5 ways I FAILED to PROGRAM my mind for many years?

1. I tried to motivate myself by consuming positive content, spending time with positive people. I failed because I was not regular. Just like we eat food, mind needs to feed on positive content regularly. The impact of negativity is more powerful than positivity.

2. There were always 2 voices in my head, one would say bad things would happen. The other would say good things will happen. I would listen only to the bad. Why? Because I felt I would fail, I had not done it before or failed earlier. I had to start ignoring the bad voice.

3. When I was successful in one area, I was not able to replicate it in other areas. Why? I did not know that we could replicate success, it was possible.

4. I could not break my bad habits or form new good habits. I was stuck. Why? Because I never knew these were patterns, they have triggers that start them. Once I identified the patterns & triggers. It became easy to change.

5. I was not consistent, I got bored easily, I lacked focus. One day when I was walking in a busy market with a friend talking on the phone. My friend told me you have amazing focus, nothing distracted you from speaking on the phone, not even the people. I realized I just had to replicate this focus I had into other areas of my life.

Are you also failing? Where are you Stuck? Thoughts?

#Habits

3 BAD HABITS that made me FAIL often!"

1. PROCRASTINATION: I was stuck here for years, unable to move from thinking to doing. It was laziness, fear of failure, not being sure, etc. The only way to break this habit is taking small actions. Start anywhere, it does not matter. Think big but act small.

FOCUS ON TAKING BABY STEPS

2. GREED to be better than others. I was forever competing with others. I was concerned about what others would think of me. My time & energy got wasted. It gave rise to FOMO: Fear of Missing out. I started to multitask & lose focus. Doing 10 things a day will make us operate at 10%.

DOTS: DO ONE THING SURELY

3. FEAR: What will happen if things go wrong, I mostly listened to only this voice in my head:) This also made me think about the past & future. If you are living in the past, present & future, you are operating at 33%

FOCUS ON PRESENT NOT RESULTS

HABITS make people successful!

To form a good HABIT here are 5 simple steps I followed:

1. Start with once a week - do it for 3 months

2. Move to 2 times a week - do it for 3 months

3. Move to 3 times a week - do it for 3 months

4. You wont need step 4 you will start loving it

5. If you feel like stopping, take a break. Begin again! Dont hurry! It's ok

Are you also stuck here? Thoughts?

Good work on the stories, Sandeep! Our long experience in industry teaches us a simple truth: Universities just scratch the surface of the most important subject of "how to manage yourself"!

What are your thoughts on portfolio life...as mentioned today by some experts in TOI today...it appears to be in contrast with DOTS. https://www.dhirubhai.net/posts/ravi-venkatesan-ba15b820_get-out-of-the-job-rut-and-embrace-a-portfolio-activity-6997553866204471296-QF3o?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop

The today's article on " How to program your Mind " really blew my mind! Though I ran out of my house at the age of 14 for not willing to go to school, frankly I have been on learning spree for the past more than 30 years and my wife and I almost read 3-4 books a month, listen to Cassette/Cds ( now called podcasts ) and keep attending seminars ( now called webinars ) on our niche of making full time income working in part time for working people to make both ends meet. I think you have put almost all the books on mind, how mind works and the psychology behind how it works. in one article of yours. It is really really awesome. I can call it a one page book. I was telling my wife that we must tell Sandeep Kochhar to collect every 75 to 80 contents and release it as a text book for Gen Z. Probably then the next generation don't have to " Think and Grow Rich ", they can become Rich by " Reading and Grow Rich " of your text books. We need more people like you on this earth to transform people. Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much.
