Have you ever tried to start a new habit, made some progress, and then stopped that habit?
If you are human then I would bet that you have. More than once. ??♀???♀?
What makes building some habits so hard?
Most of us have read or know about several popular books like "Atomic Habits " by James Clear and "Tiny Habits " by BJ Fogg.
I read and studied these books very carefully and gleaned lots of useful information from them.
I include many of the incredibly useful strategies I learned from those books in our weight loss program and in my performance coaching practice.
The only drawback to those books is that they rely on our conscious mind.
They assume that we understand and remember the structure of a habit.
The success of those strategies is reliant on our having sufficient planning and motivation to fully develop new habits.
Of course, we help our clients with all of that.
But much of that work is done at the superficial, conscious level.
And in our modern, busy, hectic lives where we are so externally focused, that is not enough.
