Habit 1/7 of the Highly Effective Community Manager: Be Proactive
Being proactive means taking responsibility for our lives and actions. It involves recognizing that we have the power to choose our responses to any situation, regardless of the circumstances. By taking initiative and being proactive, we can shape our own destinies rather than being controlled by external factors.
Being Proactive, for the Community Administrator: We must take proactive measures to maintain and improve the communities under our responsibility. Instead of waiting for problems to arise, we can establish regular maintenance plans, conduct preventive inspections, and address potential issues before they become major concerns. In other words, we should focus more on preventing situations so that we don't have to constantly "put out fires." By being proactive, we can ensure that communities are well-maintained and create a positive living environment for their residents.?
