H?rm?, Our Home

H?rm?, Our Home

Many of our customers often ask about the town where our headquarters is located, H?rm?, Finland, and what it is like. On first glance, it is an unlikely place to find a waterjet manufacturer; Rural, with small farms and forests for many kilometers around in all directions. It is the type of place where everyone knows their neighbors, everyone grew up together, and nobody locks their car.

H?rm? is where our company was founded, back in 1976, and we have grown into a market leader since that time of humble beginnings. Our company, though now very much international, still is, at its’ heart, a Finnish company.

Located about 5 hours from Helsinki by car or train, the closest “large” city is Vaasa, about an hour from Helsinki or Stockholm by plane, and also an hour from the factory.

Alamarin-Jets were first developed to be used on local lakes and rivers, with very shallow draft, of which there are an abundance in this part of Finland. In fact, some of our earliest jets manufactured are still operating locally after all of these years!

The H?rm? area sees quite a bit of tourism in the summer months (24 hour daylight), and there is even a local amusement park nearby, Power Park that contains the sole hotel in town (Where we usually accommodate visitors to the factory.) Very quiet scenery, great fishing, and trekking  drive visitors to the area.

Alamarin-Jet has an open door policy regarding factory visits by customers and dealers. You can come and even see your specific jet being made. Additionally, we offer several training sessions each year (usually in the summer) for our dealers and customers.

If you would like to schedule a visit, please contact your local Alamarin-Jet dealer and we will be happy to make arrangements.

In the meantime, a traditional Finnish toast: Kippis!
