Gyantantra’s Next Chapter: Learning, Coding & Having Fun!

Since the 1990s, Literacy India has built a tech-driven learning ecosystem, evolving from Digital Dost to GyanTantra Udbhav. This shift revolutionized education in underprivileged schools, proving that technology can bridge critical learning gaps often ignored by traditional methods. By making tech an essential tool, GyanTantra continues to empower teachers and students to reach over 360,000 children by March 2025, shaping a future where quality education is accessible to all.

Mousumi Routh, a Standard Six student with an inspiring story, lives in Nawbhanga, Chingrighata. Coming from a humble background, technology was once beyond her reach. Her father, employed in a hospital’s housekeeping department, worked hard to provide for the family, yet modern digital tools remained a distant dream.

That changed when Mousumi joined Literacy India as a Gyantantra student. This initiative opened doors to digital education, and she quickly excelled in academics, punctuality, and enthusiasm. Today, she actively participates in the Smart Class program of the Pathshala 3.0 initiative, expanding her digital knowledge.

Her journey into coding began through Code.org, where she developed an animated game featuring beloved characters like Rapunzel, Anna, Elsa, and Baymax. She brought an interactive story to life using block coding, employing key coding elements such as SET, EVENT, FOREVER, SCORE, and MOVEMENT. The game’s excitement comes from Baymax, a user-controlled character, chasing the others in an unpredictable environment.

Mousumi’s passion for coding is growing. She dreams of creating innovative animations and learning advanced coding techniques. She is poised to achieve great things in the digital world with dedication and the right opportunities.

Her story is a powerful reminder of how education and perseverance can break barriers. Mousumi is on her way to making a remarkable impact in technology.
