GW Celebrates 100 Years of Women in Law
Giles Wilson Solicitors
Life changes. Be ready for what’s next with Giles Wilson.
I was the first person in my family to attend university, which at the time was important. To then become a qualified lawyer, then an associate and later a partner at a strong private client practice such as GW is something I probably take for granted now (albeit still with immensely proud parents). Upon reflection, it really is a great testament to GW and the support, as well as the challenges provided to me here, to reach this position.

Having been both an interviewee and interviewer at GW, I ensure that in line with our core values, background does not come into question, instead individuality and personal strengths are valued, rather than a ‘typical’ candidate always joining. I now enjoy mentoring and training junior lawyers from their first role as paralegals, to trainees to newly qualified. Monthly 1-1 sessions ensure that now as a manager, I listen and learn from those I seek to support and tailor their encouragement to their individuality and diversity.

I want us to continue to do more in this respect but with acknowledgement that the geographical area of GW means that as a law firm, we are limited by how we can change the society around us, we play our part and hopefully with growth continue to do so.
