Guy Shulberg - From Finding Meaning to Making a Difference: A Journey of Passion and Purpose

Growing up in Hazaphon, Guy Shulberg was raised in a community that instilled in him the values of hard work, resilience, and determination. After serving in the military, he moved to the city to pursue his dreams, but he found himself lost and unsure of what direction to take. With a deep desire to learn and grow, Guy studied international relations and history, seeking to understand the complex forces shaping our world.

As he delved deeper into history, Guy became increasingly interested in social history - the stories of ordinary people and their struggles to make sense of a world filled with conflicting ideas, laws, and ideologies. He recognized the need to bridge the gap between ideology and reality, to see the world not in a cold, detached way but through the lens of experience and empathy.

This passion for understanding the human experience led Guy to a career in the non-profit sector, where he currently works for a public-funded NGO that focuses on saving food that would otherwise be thrown away. With a broken food system incentivizing waste over recycling, Guy and his team work tirelessly to sort and redistribute fresh, healthy food to those in need, inspiring communities with their educational and public activities to save food and decrease waste.

Beyond his work in the non-profit sector, Guy has also dedicated himself to empowering young people through public speaking and debate. His experience as an instructor and consultant for Debate, a company that trains teachers to coach students in public speaking, has taught him the value of setting boundaries and creating trust between leaders and their teams. By supporting managers to develop the right mindset and take responsibility for their work, Guy has helped create a culture of excellence and growth within the organizations he has worked with.

But perhaps most inspiring of all is Guy's work with PTSD soldiers, helping them to overcome their trauma and find purpose through entrepreneurship and product building. By connecting veterans with experienced mentors and providing them with the tools and resources they need to succeed, Guy is making a real difference in the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for their country.
