Is the guy in charge really the guy in charge?

Cardinal Raymond Burke is a staunch conservative in the US Catholic church.
He’s a leading critic of Pope Francis.
He’s seventy-three.
He’s a vaccine skeptic.
So much so that he has often been seen maskless.
Now there’s a man who relies on God to keep him from harm.
Here’s the thing…
In 2021, he was placed on a ventilator just days after testing positive for Covid-19.
And on his official Twitter account his supporters were asked to pray for him.
I was thinking…
If he’s one of the top guys in the Catholic Church, how come he needs folk to pray for him?
It begs the question…(or two)
Does God exist simply because enough people believe he does?
And if so, if we stop believing, does he stop existing?
Or…(and here comes another tricky question)
Does God exist whether we believe in him or not?
If that’s true…I bet Cardinal Raymond Burke feels a bit of a pratt for refusing to wear a mask, putting his flock at risk, and then testing positive for Covid-19.

Millions will no doubt pray for him.
I won’t be one of them.
I’d rather follow the guy in charge, than one of the guys lower down the food chain…
Of course, that presumes the guy in charge is really the guy in charge…

2 年Ha Ha Ha, that was a fun short read. As short as it is there’s a lot in there to digest. The one guy I know that’s in charge is my wife and she is real, I can feel her and she does stuff that remind me that she’s in change and will kick my arss if she has to.??
