This guy.

Every year for the past ten years or so I've photographed the London Marathon for Saint John Ambulance and every year I'm amazed and inspired by the tens of thousands of runners who pass by the cheering point.

But it's not the elites who dash by at 13mph at mile 24 that inspire me. It's the bulk of runners who will finish in 4-5 hours - that's a long time running.

But this guy in the orange, John English ran 7 marathons in 7 days. He started near Birmingham and followed the Grand Union canal tow path into London and completed his final marathon yesterday morning.

John was inspired by England rugby league legend Kevin Sinfield and the work he has done to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease.

I was able to meet John as he came along the canal into Berkhamsted on day 6 and then on the big day yesterday and although he looked exhausted there was never any doubt he would complete his challenge.

Well done John - what a legend.
