Gutter Downspout with splash block

A gutter downspout is a component of a gutter system that carries rainwater from the gutters to the ground or a drainage system. It is typically a vertical pipe or tube attached to the end of a gutter, allowing water to flow down and away from the building's foundation. Downspouts play a crucial role in directing rainwater away from the structure to prevent water damage and foundation issues. They may be connected to underground pipes or splash blocks, which help channel water further away from the building to ensure proper drainage and protect the property's integrity. In areas of abundant leafy trees, it is wise not to tie downspouts into underground drains.
