Gulp. How's Your Digestion?
Recently my digestion was thrown off for a couple of days from too much busy-ness, overwork, indulging and not enough rest and space to just be. This imbalance was a huge gift and reminder of how important it is to make choices that support digestive health as well as to create space and time for digesting ideas, illuminations and big, strong feelings.
I love to live big. I often take life in gulps, moving from one exciting thing to the next. Then my good friend Maureen taught me about the power of slowing down to digest and savor each experience. This has been a game-changer.?It’s actually true: less is more.?
My husband is also my teacher in the slow living department. He has the ability to observe, reflect and digest scenery for long periods of time. I used to ask him–as I observed him staring out the window at trees–“What are you thinking about?” His reply, “Nothing, I’m just being.” Join me as I sit with my “live inside out” question of the week:?
