Gulf Research Meeting (GRM 2021) Workshop
I was pleased to participate with a group of research colleagues and professors in the virtual workshop held last week entitled "Saudi Youth ‘Policy Relevance’: Dilemmas, Challenges and Opportunities" which was organized by Gulf Research Center - ???? ?????? ??????? and University of Cambridge under the supervision of Dr Mark C Thompson and Neil Quilliam.
I presented a research paper entitled “Impact of Globalization on KSA Youth” in partnership with my co-author Muath M. Alturkistani, in which we raised a number of themes, the most important of which are impact of globalization on education and employment.
At the beginning of the workshop, a number of officials, including H.H. Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al Saud the Minister of Foreign Affairs and H.E. Nayef?Al-Hajraf Secretary General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf?gave valuable guiding speeches calling on young people to contribute to research and analysis in Gulf studies motivating to participate in more such useful events and workshops.
Noteworthily the Gulf Research Center Cambridge established the annual Gulf Research Meeting (GRM) in 2010 to provide an academic environment to foster Gulf studies and to encourage scholarly and academic exchange among those working on or interested in the developments that are taking place and defining the Gulf region and its constituent societies. Furthermore, the Workshops promote various research efforts among institutions from within the Gulf and other parts of the Gulf to heighten awareness of Gulf specific issues.
