Guilty, Guilty, Guilty! Why aren't you happy?

Guilty, Guilty, Guilty! Why aren't you happy?

Please forgive me for not jumping up and down about the Guilty Verdict today! Don't misunderstand me, I am happy to see justice for George Floyd and his family, I truly believe in my heart of hearts that Derek Chauvin got what he deserved, he should be held accountable for his actions. It was truly tragic and heartbreaking to watch George Floyd's life being taken live for all to see. I am extremely mortified that this type of behavior is still happening in the world today. The division in this country is a powder keg that is sitting too close to the fire and its getting hotter everyday, unless real change happens, it will surely ignite, that is not my hope, but my fear!. Question is, where do we go from here? Nothing has truly been resolved. There are far to many families out there still awaiting justice for their loved ones, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Duante Wright, Rayshard Brooks, Atatiana Jefferson, Stephon Clark, Botham Jean, Philando Castile, Alton Sterling, Freddie Gray, Eric Garner, Tamir rice, Adam Taledo, just to name a few. These situations happen far to often and unfortunately they do not end with the responsible party being held accountable. Yes, I am happy for the Floyd family and for the verdict, but when will real change come and when will I feel safe for my young brothers and sisters that will potentially encounter the police. I'm Hesitantly Optimistic, but hopeful! Praying for peace and for change. We have a lot of work to do, let's all come together and make a difference.
